Ross Robinson muscles to sixth-place finish in North-South prelim at Florence

With wet weather cancelling Thursday’s prelim shortly after qualifying wrapped up, Ross timed in 15th-fastest in his group on Friday before placing seventh in his heat. Starting his $5,000-to-win preliminary feature in 21st, Robinson advanced through the field 15 spots in the 25-lapper to register an impressive sixth-place finish.
On Saturday, Robinson secured his spot into the $75,000-to-win North-South 100 with the third-and-final transfer position in his heat. Starting in 18th, Ross faded two spots in the 100-lap affair to finish 20th.
