Ross Robinson rides to runner-up finish in Firecracker prelim
Ross Robinson joined a stacked field of 52 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries at Lernerville Speedway (Sarver, Pa.) as the 18th annual Firecracker 100 got underway with prelims on Thursday and Friday leading up to Saturday’s main event.
On Thursday, Ross backed up a third-place heat showing with a seventh-to-fifth run in his 25-lap preliminary feature. He trailed Jonathan Davenport, Chub Frank, Drake Troutman, and Daulton Wilson across the line.
Showing significant speed again on Friday, Ross picked up a late victory in his heat race before climbing to a runner-up finish in his prelim, joining Drake Troutman and Tim Mcreadie on the podium.
On Saturday, Robinson raced into the $50,000-to-win Firecracker 100 with a win in his B-Main. Pinned on the 10th row for the 100-lapper, Ross capped off the weekend with a run forward to finish 13th.
