Robinson records Top-10 finish in Conococheague 50 at Hagerstown
Representing his home state against the nation’s elite, Ross Robinson took on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) over the weekend, beginning with Friday’s third annual Melvin L. Joseph Memorial at Georgetown (DE) Speedway.
Following a fourth-to-second run in his heat race, Ross was caught in a tangle early in the feature and wasn’t able to recover. Despite the efforts of his crew to make repairs and return to competition, Robinson limped to a 19th-place outing.
On Saturday at Hagerstown (MD) Speedway, Robinson continued to show speed, posting the sixth-fastest qualifying time in his group before securing a third-place finish in his heat. Carrying the same momentum into the $25,000-to-win main event, Ross climbed two spots in the 50-lapper to register a 10th-place finish.
The weekend concluded at Port Royal (PA) Speedway on Sunday for the Battle in the Borough. After utilizing a provisional to start the 40-lap A-Main, Robinson’s night came to an early end when retired on lap 22.
