12th-place finish in LOLMDS stop at Farley
Ross Robinson returned to the driver’s seat of the Dutchstar Motorsports No. 7R Late Model on Wednesday night at Davenport Speedway (Davenport, Iowa) for the sixth round of the Castrol FloRacing Night in America miniseries.
With 40 Late Models on hand to compete on the ultra-racey quarter-mile oval, Ross’ eighth-place finish in his heat relegated him into a B-Main for another shot at the $23,023-to-win A-Main. Needing to place second or better, Ross moved forward two positions but failed to transfer with a fifth-place outing.
Joining the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) on Friday at 300 Raceway (Farley, Iowa) for the You Call We Haul 50, Robinson raced his way into the show with a fifth-place finish in his heat. Chasing a $12,000 payday in the 50-lap affair, Ross clawed forward one spot to place 12th.
For Saturday’s CRST Transportation Solution 50 at 34 Raceway (West Burlington, Iowa), Ross edged his way into the $15,000-to-win finale with a sixth-place finish in his heat. Gaining five positions in the 50-lap affair, Robinson crossed the line 17th.
