Sixth-place finish in Firecracker 100 prelim, finishes 12th in Saturday's finale
Ross Robinson and the DutchStar Motorsports team were one of 49 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) competitors entered at Lernerville Speedway (Sarver, Pa.) on Thursday evening for the 17th running of the Firecracker 100 weekend.
With a pair of prelims to kick off the three-day weekend, Ross followed up the 10th-fastest qualifying lap in his group with a third-place finish in his heat. After Mother Nature postponed his 25-lap prelim to Friday afternoon, Robinson gained one spot to finish sixth.
Later Friday night, Ross came in third in his heat before placing 11th in the final round of prelims.
On Saturday, Robinson edged his way into the $50,000-to-win Firecracker 100 finale with the third-and-final transfer spot in his heat. Earning the 15th-starting position, Ross clawed forward three spots in the talent-laden field to register a 12th-place finish.
Ross remains 15th in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
