Ross Robinson follows Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series to Deer Creek

For the 44th annual NAPA Auto Parts Gopher 50 weekend, Ross Robinson followed the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) to Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minn.) for a pair of prelims on Thursday and Friday leading up to Saturday’s main event.

With a 10th-place finish in his heat pinning him near the tail of his B-Main, Robinson was a scratch from his 10-lap consolation race.

For another $5,000-to-win preliminary on Friday, Ross timed in 10th-fastest in his 19-car group before placing sixth in his heat. Taking the top-four from consolation races, Robinson came one spot shy of a transfer position with a fifth-place outing.

On Saturday, Robinson charged from 10th-to-5th in his heat but missed a transfer spot by two cars, forcing him to use a provisional into the $50,000-to-win NAPA Auto Parts Gopher 50. Rolling off 23rd, Ross was an early retiree from the 100-lap on lap 39.

Ross climbed to 14th in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
