Robinson records 13th-place finish in LOLMDS Go 50 at Huset's
Competing in the annual Silver Dollar Nationals at its new home, Ross Robinson made the trek to Huset’s Speedway (Brandon, S.D.) on Thursday for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) tripleheader weekend.
Drawing 40 cars, Robinson squeezed into the opener with the final transfer spot in his heat. Chasing a $12,000 payday, Ross gained one spot in the 50-lapper to finish 13th.
Back in action on Saturday for a pair of heat races after wet weather postponed Friday’s program, Ross lost ground in the first round but rebounded with a seventh-to-fourth run in his second heat.
With passing points from heats setting the grid for Saturday night’s $53,000-to-win Silver Dollar Nationals, Robinson secured his spot into the finale with a third-place finish in his B-Main. Starting in 21st, Ross retired with 18 circuits remaining.
Ross sits 14th in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
