Robinson visits Knoxville for Lucas Oil Knoxville Nationals
Back on the road with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS), Ross Robinson unloaded his DutchStar Motorsports No. 7 Late Model at the immaculate Knoxville Raceway (Knoxville, Iowa) on Thursday for the 19th running of the annual Lucas Oil Knoxville Nationals.
With 40 competitors on the grounds for the three-day event consisting of preliminaries on Thursday and Friday with the main event on Saturday, Robinson missed a transfer spot into both prelims with a fourth-place finish in Thursday’s consolation followed by a third-place finish in Friday’s B-Main.
Relegated into one of two consolation races on Saturday, Ross raced his way into the $50,000-to-win Knoxville Nationals finale with a third-place showing. Starting in 27th, Robinson was an early retiree from the 75-lap affair on lap 24.
Ross remains 13th in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
