Robinson captures second straight victory, gets first win at Port Royal

Ross Robinson piloted his Commonwealth Equipment / Stockley Materials No. 7 DutchStar Motorsports / The Frozen Farmer / Wesley Collins Builders / XR1 Rocket Chassis / Clements Race Engine Super Late Model to his second-straight feature win on Saturday evening.

His latest trip to the Winner’s Circle came at Port Royal Speedway and marked his first-career win at the track known as “The Speed Palace.”

“To get my first win at such a legendary place as Port Royal (Speedway) means a lot to me. Even more it means a lot to build momentum with this awesome team and give them the wins they deserve,” Robinson said. “Things are clicking well for us right now, and we are getting better and more consistent every night out. Thank you to everyone who supports us. We are heading back to Port Royal this week to go after another checkered flag.”

Fresh off his repeat victory in the Mark “Coot” Williams Memorial, Ross Robinson returned to action on Saturday at Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway for the rain-delayed season opener for Super Late Models.

Aboard his Commonwealth Equipment No. 7 Super Late Model, Robinson raced into the main event with a flag-to-flag victory in his heat race.

Starting fourth on the feature grid, Ross tracked down race leader, Chad Myers on the 12th circuit and paced the remainder of the 25-lapper to claim the $4,000 top prize and his second-straight victory.

He finished 3.806 seconds ahead of Colton Flinner with Rick Eckert rounding out podium.

Robinson also earned a spot in the $1,000-to-win Australian Pursuit race where he started eighth and finished seventh.

Full results from the event are available at www.PortRoyalSpeedway.com.

The upcoming weekend has Robinson slated to return to Port Royal Speedway for another $4,000-to-win event on Saturday.
